These are more of the beginner steps to Building a WordPress Money Making Blog.
Choose a Niche
The first and most important thing you need to do is choose a niche. It is what you want to write about. Writing a blog can be a rather difficult task if you do not have an interest in the niche. Some say you need to have a passion for what you write about. I think that’s true. I just have many things I am passionate about and a WordPress money making blog is only one of them.
Keyword Research
Whatever your niche, it is a good idea to determine what key words will be associated with your niche. Keywords are a foundation for your WordPress money making blog because keywords are what people search for when they search for something on the Internet. Click here to see free offer from Wordtracker. Undertand that people don’t search for you but search for those keywords and then stumble upon you.
Register a Domain Name and Hosting
Many people want their domain name to include some of the keywords associated with their blog. Some do not. Regardless, once you have chosen your niche and your keywords, it is time to register and host a domain name. This is where it gets a little scary for those who are not Internet savy.
However, I’ve learned that talk and no action equals nothing. So visit one of the many sites who offer these services. I recommend using HostGater for your purchase because they are inexpensive, offer a combined service with domain names plus a hosting service, and they provide good 24/7 support. When you register and purchase your domain name, you will need to login to your domain name cpanel and specify WordPress as your platform thru their software tab, choosing fantastico for a basic WordPress theme. Wordpress is easy and doesn’t require the user to know much about html code, but you’ll learn a some html as you begin to make money online and work with your WordPress money making blog.
Find Your Dashboard
After you have your domain and WordPress platform, you have your blog. It’s described as http://www.YourDomainName.extwhere YourDomainName.ext equals your domain name that you purchased. To get to your WordPress dashboard, type this into your browser, http://www.YourDomainName.ext/wp-admin. This is where you work on your WordPress money making blog and where the real creation begins.
Upload A Professional Theme
Although Wordpress offers many free themes, you may want to buy a more professional theme. A theme is simply the specific html coding layout of what your blog looks like. There are many types of themes, some simple, some more complex and can even include e-commerce options including a shopping cart with check out. I recommend a professional theme from the many offered by WooThemes.
Remove WordPress Options Not Needed
Remove links and remove the Hello World Post. Go to the Links Tab on the WordPress dashbord and click edit. There you can remove all the links. Also on the dashboard, click on the Post Tab, click on edit and from there you can delete the Hello World Post or replace it with whatever you want your first post to say.
Install Your Widgets
Widgets are simply the functions you will want to show on your blog side bars such as Categories, Recent Posts, Comments, money making Ads, Text Boxes, Calendars, etc. These are just click and drop options to add widgets to your sidebars. So just click on your Widget Tab and see how these work. Detailed use of them may require some help, but we’ll cover that with our future help.
Install and Activate WordPress Plugins
Plugins are free options provided by WordPress.org and add powerful tools to watch, monitor, and share your blog as well as provide a lot more functionality. I recommend Akismet, All in One SEO Pack, Google Analytics, Google XML Sitemap, Share This, and WP Database Backup to start with. Simply click on the Plugins Tab on the dashbord, click on Add New and then search for the plugins in the new section, the recent section, or the popular section. Once you find the plugin(s) you want, just add, install and activate them. You may need a little help here too and with your ping services.
Configure Blog Permalinks
Permalinks are those links used by a blog post after it has moved past the front page and moved to the archives. Click on the Settings Tab from your WordPress dashboard, click on Permalinks Tab, then on the custom structure option and add the following code to the field. /%category%/%postname%/ Then click on save changes. This will add the category and the postname to every thing you post to your blog. It makes it easier for the search engines and directories to find your content.
Posts Verses Pages
A page is static info and a post is an ongoing roll of information that is written. A blog article is a post whereas a Contact Us page is not. Posts and Pages can be changed at will, added to, or deleted as necessary. But posts continue over time and are catagorized and eventually archived within your WordPress money making blog.
How Many Pages and How to Add Them?
A Home Page is probably already there. Most blogs use the Home Page as the most recent post and already exists on the WordPress platform. To add additional pages, simply click on the Pages Tab and click Add New. An About Page is often used to describe the blog or the author. A Contact Us Page is used to allow visitors to call or email the author. A Privacy/Disclosure Page is used to describe the privacy policy the blog will use to avoid spam and to disclose any relationships you have with advertisers. See my recent FTC article. You can have as many pages as you want.
How to Add Posts on Your WordPress Money Making Blog
Posts are the content of your blog. Simply click on the Post Tab from your dashboard, click on Add New, and start typing. Publish your article when you are satisfied with it. Simply click on publish. Many say to write a post a day to keep the job away. But it is not that easy. Writing is what provides the content. Content is what visitors search for. These visitors are then the pre-sold traffic that buys whatever you are promoting on your WordPress money making blog.

I know I failed to tell you to save your dashboard changes on all these steps, but I meant to!
